If successful, you will help to support and develop our range of solutions used by both commercial airlines and business aviation. Particular skillsets of interest include Microsoft web and client technologies such as C# .NET, MS SQL, WPF, WCF and Silverlight – knowledge of programming in iOS or Android is also beneficial.

EFOS Reporting Application for Monarch EFB System

Monarch Airlines has launched a Class 2 Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) demonstration trial. The demonstration consists of the Goodrich Class 2 Smart Display and a suite of applications including Evoke System’s EFOS Class 2 Reporting Module. If the trial is successful, the system will be deployed across the Airline’s entire Airbus fleet early next year, with Monarch becoming the first UK mainstream airline with a Class 2 EFB.

The project is developing the traditional Class 2 EFB concept of pilot-related software applications into a complete Cockpit Data Management Solution,
whereby the aircraft becomes a node on Monarch’s IT network while on the ground. The EFB has an intimate interface with the aircraft avionics and uses a variety of technologies to exchange information with the Company network anywhere in the world.

The close partnership between the main stakeholders has allowed development to progress rapidly. Monarch’s EFB project was initiated in March
2010; main signatures were signed in June 2011; and the EFB hardware was installed on the first aircraft two weeks later. The EFB architecture is ‘future proofed’ ready for the installation of future navigation requirements such as ADS-B and CPDLC.

New 0345 numbers

We have now introduced 0345 numbers for EFOS sales and support. Although the 0845 numbers will remain active for some time, the 03 numbers should be included in any inclusive call packages that you may have on landlines and mobiles.

Light Jets Europe 2010

The Oxford based event will examine how light jets are being deployed around Europe and offer a platform to assess how the market is unfolding. Our Managing Director, along with the CEO of Ambeo will be talking about the Challenges and compliance issues involved in securing an AOC.

Moving Home

After many months of discussion, client feedback and development, we are pleased to announce that the new EFOS WEB home page is now available. The original home page has served us well, but with the rapid growth in the number of modules available there was simply too much information on a single page. The new home page design has a clear modern layout and provides an “at a glance” summary of new, pending and overdue items relating to your personal profile. We’ll be contacting existing clients to arrange the migration over the coming weeks.

New Validation Engine

Over recent weeks we have re-written the validation engine in EFOS to improve the consistency of the rules across all modules. The new engine enhances the checks that can take place during data entry (for example, the electronic journey log) and also retrospectively across existing data. Within the coming months, airlines will have to begin submitting tonne-kilometre reports as part of the EU Emissions Trading Scheme. The EFOS validation engine will now perform checks on this data to ensure nothing is missing and that values are within specified limits. Easy to use and transparent validation reports allow you to track this on a month-by-month basis so that any problems can be resolved throughout the reporting period and not just before the submission deadline.
